Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
