The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the National Football League
That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 competitors
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer
The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the league's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard season average
Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to seven points just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
Miami have served up a varied performances this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the New England, they're among three different eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their combined 24 wins achieved against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his side to success
The defense is solid and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a surprise top seed in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Showdown
Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each put up 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of next week's major meeting between the two in LA
They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest
Both could realistically be without a loss as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick deflected and returned by the Eagles for a score
Seattle also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly two of the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and contributing another forty-two {receiving yards
