The UK is set to progress with utilizing the full worth of immobilized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the move would be implemented in tight collaboration with the US.

United Kingdom restrictions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had only been drawn from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Russian sovereign funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that more sanctions soon would heighten the tension on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after European representatives gathered in the Danish capital recently to discuss utilizing immobilized Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, US President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to confiscate or otherwise use seized Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russia's holdings in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Moscow carried out large-scale missile and drone strikes throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, leading to blackouts in many areas of the capital city, the city, and eight other regions.
