The England national team will embark on their Euro 2028 campaign at the the home of Manchester City, provided that they secure the expected qualification for a tournament hosted across the bulk of Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

Manchester City’s home ground has not staged an Three Lions match since the spring of 2016, when the Turkish team were beaten 2-1 in a warm-up game, but is highly likely to welcome the England side for their first match on June 10, 2028.

The English side are planned to play their final two group matches at Wembley, but, should they win the preliminary round, their round of 16 match would be held at the Newcastle stadium. Placing second would mean starting the elimination stage at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The championship was unveiled at an ceremony in central London on Wednesday evening. Key representatives from the tournament organizers and the host FAs were confronted as they entered the venue by approximately 50 protesters, who demanded Israel’s national side to be removed from global football because of the conflict in Gaza.

Signs were held up with phrases stating “Show Israel the red card” and “You are complicit”, while protesters chanted: “Kick Israel out.”
