Jones has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his televised remarks.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”

The manager has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
