Salah Extends Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
âHe speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,â the midfielder said. âHe said sorry to the group and was like: âIf my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.ââ
The manager has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. âHe was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,â the midfielder explained.
Jones also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. âI understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,â he said. âHowever, if a player is content to just not start, then I think thatâs a bigger problem.â
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
âWhen thereâs been any sort of anger, the source has been from a place of caring,â the midfielder stated. âWeâre past that now and weâre uniting strongly, performing and starting to win games.â
