Vince Zampella, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in California he was 55 years old.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The influential game designer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a motorway in LA on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
