Your Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. From the gradual unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to trainers developing firm views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms boasting unique designs that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is based on a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was almost chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong partner; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross, whether in its standard and Mega form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their side unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Many past Pokédex entries mention their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Look at this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an constant fountain of gossip to anyone who wants to hear. Much like an captivating, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also mentions its ability to predict an enemy’s next moves, which seems quite similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for frequently getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. It is also known for its capability to make a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Players were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Leo offers to the table. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a always surprised expression like a Maiden when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a strategy.
The Scales – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to maintain the peace, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them worry more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through pure resentment and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius myself, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even notes how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee disasters in advance? That gives the identical vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to always believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Aloof element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
